This week I show you how to display posts as a gallery in WordPress using the Category Grid View plugin. It’s a great plugin to show off your projects, recipes, or any posts on your blog with an image.

Below is an example of how it looks on a page from the One Dog Woof blog where she has a gallery of posts for her projects, crochet projects, tutorials, etc.

One Dog Woof Projects WordPress Plugin

To use the plugin, you simply create a page on your site then insert a shortcode that will display posts from a certain category. The plugin will grab either the featured image of your posts or can even grab the first image it finds and display the entire category as  a pretty gallery. Each thumbnail links to your posts! Below is a video tutorial of how to use the plugin to display your posts as a gallery.

  1. You’re amazing!! I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out how to do this! Thanks again! I’m obsessed with your blog btw. LOL!

Do you know if there is an updated version to this? I went to download it and it’s no longer available.

  2. Hi Natasha, i just found your tutorial here. This is exactly what I was looking for. I have only just started designing my first website a week ago. I looked up the net for the plugin you mentioned-category grid view but I cannot find it. Not this specific one anyway. Unless I am missing something its not available anymore. Could you recommend one that will do the same job? I am designing a Recipes page of my blog and need all recipes to be pulled into a grid, so that I can then sort them by type. Would you be able to advise whats my best move now? I am a total newbie at this plus not versed in technical stuff. Many thanks. Anousha

    1. Hi Anousha

I’m in the same boat as you – have you found a plugin that can do the same as this plugin yet? Or some other way of doing it? 🙂
