One of the best things about WordPress are the plugins and luckily there are a tun of great call-to-action plugins for WordPress to help you achieve your goals and most are 100% free. Scroll Triggered Boxes allows you to create call to action boxes with content created by shortcodes, links, custom HTML (also integrates with MailChimp with MailChimp for WP). Position boxes on any corner of the page or in the center.
One of the earliest tools and maybe the most popular FREE call-to-action action tool is the Hello Bar. Hello Bar lets you create not only a top bar, modal pop-up, full page call-to-action or triggered slider box. Just sign up on their site, create your call-to-action then download the WordPress plugin and upload it to your site. Without any further setup on WordPress, your call to action is added to your site! Options include: driving traffic to a page (text and a link), newsletter subscriptions (integration with mailchimp and others) and social media links. Hello Bar also provides with simple A/B testing.
MailChimp Top Bar is a extension for the popular MailChimp for WP plugin that integrates WordPress with Mail Chimp. The bar can be added to the top or bottom of your site with options for background colour and button colour.
Included in the list of shortcodes of this plugin, is a call-to-action shortcode. This shortcode allows you to create a bounding box with text and a link that you can add to your post content or sidebar.
The AddToAny plugin has one of the most extensive list of social media share functions with over 100 services. Activated the plugin on WordPress lets you choose where you’d like to place your share function.
A highly rated social share plugin that gives you a tun of options (especially with design)! With this WordPress social share plugin, you can customize the share buttons with your own colour, text or even upload your own cute icons.
This is a sophisticated plugin that gives you the ability to monitor and track conversion rates, run A/B or multivariate split tests on calls to actions. You can create a popup or use their widget to place the call-to-action on your sidebar. The free version includes lots of templates and ability to use your own design then integrations into popular email apps are an additional cost.
Don’t count out the effectiveness of great design. A linked banner images on your sidebar can be a great way to lead visitors to take action. You can create your banner with Photoshop, PicMonkey, Canva or text on photo app (Quipo or Over). Link the image to page or even your newsletter subscribe page hosted by MailChimp, Constant Contact or others.

The pro version gives you much more control over design, analytics and gives you 9 different types of call-to-actions (top bar, sidebar, triggered box, etc).
Offer exclusive content on your website to email subscribers. This plugin provides an easy shortcodes to wrap the content you want to “lock” and users can view content once they are confirmed as a newsletter subscriber!

Last on my list of WordPress call-to-action plugins is the WPCB plugin – last, but definitely no slouch. This plugin lets you create call-to-action boxes that are embeded on the page, popup after a set time, popup on exit and are triggered on scroll. The free version of the plugin gives you analytics, video options and integrations with Feedburner, Get Response, MailChimp, AWeber and MailPoet. There is a pro version for more templates, A/B testing, support and other options.
