Last week, Lupita Nyong’o graced the stage at the Academy Awards to accept her Oscar for best supporting female for 12 years a slave. This was my first introduction to Lupita and, of course now, I see her everywhere.
I’ve liked how friendly and humble she appears in interviews. I’ve also been impressed at how well spoken and meaningful she can be in her speech about beauty at the Black Women in Hollywood luncheon.

1. Lupita had her first introduction to the film industry working as a production assistant for the The Constant Gardener (filmed in Nairobi and Kenya where she grew up)
